Chair Yoga Classes
Chair Yoga is a fun and effective way of moving your body, developing strength and flexibility and staying physically and mentally supple. Each class involves some upper body movements in the chair and some lower body movements in the chair. Also, for those that can, there is a short section of standing practices using the chair for support, with options for seated or standing practices.
There may be many reasons to join a chair yoga class rather than a mat based yoga class - perhaps the time suits you better, or you’re working from home and it fits in with your day or you find it challenging getting up from or down to the floor. You’ll get that same benefit to your body-breath-mind connection as you would in a mat-based yoga class.
Current students have a range of longer-term conditions and some have short term conditions - Diabetes, Heart conditions, Parkinson’s, MS and a broken ankle! Tracy loves bringing yoga to everyone through devising practices, sequences and postures suitable for chair yoga. Tracy is committed to bringing yoga to everyone.
She also teaches 1-1 and has experience in teaching students with Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Injuries, Stroke, Heart Attack, Cancer and recovering from severe injuries.
Testimonial
As someone with progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS), I thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with Yoga via Tracy's 'Chair Fundamentals' course recently. I was delighted to experience the benefits of Yoga just as much (using a chair) as I used to, when I was more able. I am very excited to be able to join Tracy's new Zoom classes starting soon and would recommend it to anyone with mobility, balance or lower body strength challenges.

Chair Yoga for MS-UK
Tracy is proud to teach two weekly classes for the national charity MS-UK. Each week on Wednesday, Tracy teaches one class that is completely seated and a second class that is a mix of seated and standing practices. Many students do both sessions. It is such a privilege to guide people with Multiple Sclerosis through a full yoga practice, incorporating postures, sequences, breathing practices, and a short meditation and relaxation. Life with a chronic illness can be tough and the feedback from these classes tell me how much joy is found in these chair yoga classes. Please get in touch if you or anyone you know could benefit from these Chair Yoga classes, organised by MS-UK. Here is the link for booking.
Wednesday Class times are:
11.15-12pm: Level 1 Seated Yoga
12.15-1pm: Level 2 Seated and Supported Standing Yoga.
You can choose to do just one class or join us for both classes, with a short break between. There is a suggested donation of £7 per week.
